Which beauty products should you buy this holiday season?
We’ve seen an uptick in beauty sales this year, with beauty products accounting for nearly half of sales this time last year, according to data compiled by Beauty Insider.
The year’s biggest sellers this year include MAC’s CoverGirl Moisture Infused Eye Mask, NARS Beauty Infused Face Mask, and Sephora Beauty Infusion Facial Mask.
However, the majority of beauty sales were down in the face and body products category.
According to Beauty Insider, face and head beauty sales dropped 14 percent, while body and face products sales dropped 13 percent.
While the trend is certainly on the rise, it is worth noting that the majority is down in face and hair products, according a study from NPD Group.
That study found that sales of face and face masks declined by 8 percent and 7 percent, respectively.

Sephora is still king of the face masks.
According the NPD report, Sephort sales rose 9 percent, but sales of its lipsticks, lipsticks and blush increased by 4 percent, and sales of eyeshadows and eyeliners increased by 2 percent.
The biggest seller of face masks is MAC, which reported a 13 percent sales increase, according the NBP.
Sephorts face masks accounted for more than 40 percent of all sales of masks, according NBP data.
Sephort also reported a 16 percent rise in sales of blush.
MAC also reported sales of a 14 percent rise, but the cosmetics giant reported sales for its eye creams and lip products rose by just 1 percent.
Sephhort also saw sales of an 11 percent rise for their eyeliner and lipsticks.
The NPD study also found that Sephartons sales of eye cream fell 6 percent compared to the previous year, but their sales of lipsticks rose by 10 percent.
Sephorts lipsticks fell by 10.9 percent compared with last year.
Sephrort’s eye creamer fell by 7.6 percent, as did MAC’s eye cream.
The biggest seller this year is Clinique’s Mascara, which saw a 7 percent increase.
However, sales of Clinique Mascars were down 6.6% compared to last year due to the holidays.
NARS Beauty has also had a solid year, increasing sales of makeup and skin products by 17.7 percent compared from last year to this year’s.
NARS sales of beauty products increased by 11.7%.
The biggest loser was Benefit Beauty, which experienced sales of 9.8 percent down from the previous record high of 17.5 percent.
It also saw a 6.5% drop in sales for the face products category, and a 4.5-percent drop for face masks, which were down by 3.3 percent and 3.5%, respectively.
Beauty Insider said that while sales of the cosmetics categories dropped, the biggest sellers of products were the face mask categories.
The top 10 biggest sellers in face mask category include Clinique, Nars, CoverGirl, MAC, Benefit, MAC Cosmetics, MAC Eye Cream, Nail Polish, Revlon, and Urban Decay.
The top 10 largest sellers in products category are: Nars Mascar, Cover Girl Moisturizing Eye Mask and Cover Girl Soft Eye Cream.
Despite the sales drops, the big winners were cosmetics and skin care, which increased sales by 9.7 and 7.9, respectively, according Beauty Insider data.
