‘The first thing that comes to my mind is the beauty of the people’: A look at Israel’s beauty industry
Israel has been dubbed the “world’s most beautiful country” by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for years, and the country’s beauty sector is valued at around $9 billion.
Yet, while Israel boasts the world’s most vibrant beauty industry, its government is often criticized for restricting access to the industry.
This is according to a recent study conducted by the Institute for Security Studies and the Israeli NGO Peace Now, which highlighted the impact that the “sneaking through” of the cosmetics industry in the occupied West Bank has on Palestinian communities, including women.
The study also noted that the government has imposed restrictions on access to cosmetic products that are sold in shops that are open to the public.
The report, titled ‘The First Thing That Comes To My Mind Is The Beauty Of The People: Israeli Beauty Industry, Part 1’, noted that in 2013, the Israeli cosmetics industry exported $1.1 billion worth of goods to the United States.
The Israeli cosmetics sector, which is largely owned by the Israeli-based Israeli cosmetics giant Derma, has been one of the main suppliers of Israeli cosmetics to the U.S. market, where it has become the third largest cosmetics supplier after Wal-Mart and Amazon.
The cosmetics industry also has significant presence in the United Kingdom, where more than 30 percent of the countrys cosmetics market was exported in 2012.
The findings came as part of the study, which surveyed 1,500 people from the occupied Palestinian territories (Palestine), the West Bank, and Gaza.
The survey was conducted on February 20-21, 2018.
According to the report, the “Sneaking Through” of Israeli BeautyIndustryIn 2013, Derma became the third biggest cosmetics supplier in the world, accounting for more than $1 billion of exports.
It also owns a cosmetics brand, Dermalogica, which has been the largest Israeli cosmetics company since 2013.
In 2014, Dermas reported revenues of more than US$1 billion, while Derma itself reported an operating loss of about US$6.5 million.
According a 2014 Derma statement, Dermatologist and cosmetics expert Shai Sivan, who co-authored the report with former Derma executive Dr. Avi Sarna, said, “The industry is not only about cosmetics, it is about the treatment of skin, hair, nails, eyes, teeth and other body parts.”
The Israeli government also restricts the availability of certain types of products to Palestinians.
According to the government, “In 2015, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Social Security issued a regulation to allow a limited number of products [to be marketed] through cosmetics shops.”
A spokesman for the Ministry told Haaretz that the restrictions have been in place for some time.
He said that the ministry was looking for ways to limit the proliferation of Israeli cosmetic products and that it has “reached out to the companies.”
The cosmetics company Derma has been known to sell cosmetics in stores that are closed to the general public, such as the “Kosher” department store and the “Arabic” department stores.
According.
to the Haaretz report, this is not the first time that the cosmetics sector has been targeted by the government.
In 2005, the head of the Israeli cosmetic industry group in the West bank, Yair Shamir, was assassinated while visiting a hospital.
According the Ha’aretz report , the assassination of Shamir marked the beginning of the beginning-of-a-long-time boycott of Israeli products by Palestinians.
In 2011, Israel closed down the largest cosmetics store in the Western Bank, the Nizar store, which sold over 1 million cosmetic products in addition to other goods, according to the Times of Israel.
The store had been open since the 1970s, and was located in the settlement of Beit El.
The Haaretz story notes that the store was later reopened in the form of a cosmetic pharmacy.
The Times of India reported that the closure of the Nazareth-based cosmetics store “was an attempt to reduce the cosmetics market in the area, as it was a popular destination for tourists.”
While the Israeli authorities have long denied the existence of Israeli-Palestinian business ties, it’s clear that the boycott has grown in recent years.
According for the report released in 2018, Derama was the third-largest cosmetics supplier to the European Union in 2015.
The company was founded in 1977, and its first product was Derma’s “Skin Essence,” a line of “natural” skin-care products that were used for the treatment and prevention of acne.
The Derma Skin Essence line was later expanded to include Derma Cosmetics, which was sold in Europe, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Nations.
In 2018, the company expanded its operations to the Arab world, adding the addition of an “Arab” division.
In 2015 the company reported a
